Selling My House to Live Alone

Nobody could have foreseen the devastating Coronavirus pandemic. But now that we’re experiencing it, I’m selling my house to live alone in the future. There’s no way I can keep paying the expenses on a large home now. I need to sell it fast.

In the past, I was proud of having a large home that my kids and grandkids could visit any time. They didn’t visit as often as I would have liked, but they did come from time to time, mostly on holidays and during summer vacations.

Now, everything has changed. We have all been hit hard financially by the economic changes due to the Coronavirus pandemic. I am fortunate to have a house to sell and provide cash for me to use for living expenses elsewhere. But many people are not as fortunate as I am. They have no home to sell and no income to pay rent.

Finding a Buyer to Sell My Home

Finding a buyer is my #1 priority right now. It’s not that I am eager to live alone, but I want to get a small house that’s not as expensive to maintain, or as costly in terms of monthly utilities. Big homes create big responsibilities for the homeowners. That’s why I want to get rid of my big home and move into a small one, as soon as possible.

I don’t have any confidence that a real estate listing will bring me the buyer I need, as quickly as I need him. The burden of finding a buyer is my own, meaning I need to pick up the phone or reach out by email to people in the business of buying homes. They are professional investors with the money to pay cash and the legal team available to close quickly. looks like the perfect home-buying team for me. They are professional buyers with decades of experience buying and selling houses. And they speak to sellers on the phone to discuss purchasing their home, unlike many websites that are email-only operations. I am not interested in selling my house to somebody who won’t speak to me on the phone.
