They Told Me to Move Out to Sell My House

I talked to a couple real estate agents and they both told me to move out to sell my house. Due to the Coronavirus, empty homes are showing well, and homes where people are living are not showing well. Homebuyers hesitate to walk through occupied homes due to the possibility of contracting Covid-19.

Maybe some people can afford to stay in a hotel for several weeks, waiting to sell their home, but I’m not one of those people. There is no way I’m going to move everything out of my house and put it in storage while I am quarantined in a hotel. That’s not just an expensive solution, it’s ridiculous.

Listing with licensed agents right now is risky. Their job is not easy, but they are supposed to be working for me and providing the service I need, as a seller. Telling me to move out is not working for me as a seller at all. To me, it seems like the agents I talked to are more concerned about their own safety and the safety of their clients, the prospective home buyers.

Displaced homeowners would take on even more risk than we all have right now during this pandemic, which includes stay-at-home orders, and it is not appropriate, in my opinion.
